(HealthCastle.com) Millions of Canadians are affected by various gastrointestinal (GI) issues. The good news is that the Gastrointstinal Society (GI Society) is here to help! Like HealthCastle.comBadgut.org provides trusted, science-based information to help anyone affected by gut or liver issues. Not only am I a believer in GI Society's mission but I have been a long time friend of the association. So I was thrilled when Gail Attara, President & Chief Executive Officer asked me to emcee their most recent fundraiser event! This was definitely for a great cause and I was more than happy to participant.

The Insider Affair 2013 Vancouver took place on October 21, 2013 at the V Lounge in Yaletown. The evening came complete with a magician, juggling and even bird-on-stilts act. All attendees were greeted by a very warm welcome from the folks at GI Society and I had the honour of introducing some very distinguished speakers.

  • Dr. Anna Reid, Past President | Canadian Medical Association
  • Dr. Riad Sherif B., President | Novartis Pharmaceuticals Canada Inc.
  • Dr. James Gray, Gastroenterologist | Vancouver General Hospital

Being a charity event, there were fantastic donations up for grabs and 5 lucky ticket holders went home with some pretty neat prizes. There were even autographed BC Lions memorabilia and attendees got to meet BC Lion players and the legendary Wally Buono from the organization.

This was most definitely one of the best planned events I have attended in a long time. All guests were well taken care of, the venue was great and I heard lots of positive comments about the quality of food. Congratulations to Gail and her team for pulling off such a worthwhile and fantastic event!
